September 2006 saw PfS launch its first courses in the new centre at the Ricoh Arena. The centre has been purpose built and is equipped with a state of the art 25 PC network supplied by Viglen Computers. The new PCs have double hard discs to cope with demanding video and music applications.

Although the new centre is owned by Coventry City Council, the football club are keen to be involved and they have undertaken to provide signage and players. The last Celebration Evening featured on the club website showing players working with the students.

We have developed brand new courses for the new centre, using our technology resources to motivate literacy and numeracy activities. Activities include the making of promotional films, making CD-Roms, and website building. We are also creating a Maths Arcade to expand our numeracy offer.

Coventry PfS implemented a restructure from September 2006 in which CCFC and CRFC Pfs centres now operate under single management. This has proved very successful, particularly in the targeting of schools and the sharing of technical expertise.

We continue to share resources with our daytime partners in the Education Business Partnership Service, ensuring that the centre delivers full value to the local area.
